Episode 10: Abridged Series!
After the harsh Pokémon Contest that happened yesterday and the most unexpected result, May and Drew continued down their path, holding hopes of the next. While May and Drew would always have different thoughts in their mind, their sight was at the same goal, no matter where they were at the present moment. Even the brisk wind streaming through their ears never stopped their friendly rivalry, yet everlasting bond. It kept them together, even when you could smell the fire in May’s eyes and the calm roses in Drew’s eyes, as they took their yesterday’s loss and put it behind them. While May and Drew’s tongue would never stop berating, it encouraged the both of them to go ahead and forget about what happened earlier. The wet lands of yesterday leaping onto May and Drew’s bodies with bronze water still didn’t dry up yet, and they were ready to approach yet another muddy land, although clear and pure. The both of them were feeling it because one of their rivals cheated in a way that was legal—outside of the contest hall. This happened during one of their brawls, in which neither May and Drew were able to settle with one of their true rivals. Her name was Jessie, and she was definitely the cheater yesterday, and it would soon happen again. When Jessie used the potion on her tentacle Pokémon, it was like using drugs before a game. It was as if Jessie had no compassion for her Pokémon, but May and Drew knew that for a while, and let it go deep in the past.
“We should’ve won that contest yesterday!” complained May, thinking back to the unfortunate results. While May had lost a plethora of contests in the past, it didn’t stop her from complaining if she lost another one. As usual, May got over it, but it kept taunting her about the unfortunate result. “That is totally not awesome at all, Drew.”
“And what do you want me to do about it?” reprimanded Drew. Below that statement, Drew couldn’t care less about these tears. “It’s not like you could’ve controlled the outcome to begin with, May. You win some, and you lose some, and you better move on. Besides, it’s not like losing a contest is a rare expectancy coming from you, May.”
With a whisper in the bronze sky, the girl was already here. Yes, it was the girl that cheater in the contest yesterday, and would soon terrorize both May and Drew once again. Yes, Jessie was here, ahead in front of a large bridge. In her hand carried a needle with green serum within it, and she sprouted some of the vicious spray into the air, welcoming a fearful aura. True, Jessie was an algophilist, always taking her time to make sure everybody around her would feel the same pain she felt everyday. Deep down, Jessie knew someone else’s agony would be her anacreontic cries afterwards. With this look, Jessie’s eyes stared at the blue bridge straight ahead, reflecting cerulean into her big, caring eyes. As opposing as Jessie’s red hair in color, Jessie began approaching the bridge, knowing that was where her next nasty plot would take place. Arms broke down with gales and streamers, opposite the past penury that Jessie’s social status held in the past. Already, her crimson aura turned from red to black, flying away onto the bridge.
The bridge ahead was in a blue and silver coat of light, shining beyond the horizon. All could already view its magnificent view from a distance. Eyes saw the stringy loops connecting the veils of the bridge together, preventing the tall stature from falling into the questioned waters below. The sea air had a salty aroma; strangely, as this bridge wasn’t even close to taking place anywhere the sea would ponder. Bikes were peddling through the bridge from a distance, cheering onto the light as their wheels made coordinated sparks on the ground, crossing with acute accuracy. While not many people without a transportation device could be seen on it, some large men and women were strolling through, ignoring and blocking the way occasionally. Their bulky bodies were unintentionally causing uncomfortable results, but the aroma of the sea reminded them that hanging around on the bridge for too long wasn’t good for the impending traffic. The guards vitiated the quality of riding across the bridge, their jobs blocking enjoyment.
While the strings connecting parts of the upper-half of the bridge seemed to be solid, metal steel, there were actually condensed areas of water traveling through those loops in a magical, ancient way. Similar to an aqueduct, this water would eventually transverse from one edge of the bridge to another, then collapse accordingly in an organized fix to release a showering waterfall. The exquisiteness of the waterfalls also signaled the step commence and final ending of the bridge, being set on the frontal opposite sides.
“We should head over to the bridge if we want to cross over that water,” suggested May, making an obvious remark. “If we don’t take the bridge, then I’ll take much longer.”
“Duh, May. Wow, you’re extremely slow when it comes to logic. Unless you want to swim against your will, you better follow me so we can get to the next town.”
The two walked over to the entrance of the bridge, with guards blocking the way. They weren’t actually cautious or faltering, but they wanted to make sure everybody entering and leaving the bridge were not of the suspicious kind. One of them handed Drew a map of the bridge, which perceptibly showed the overpass going straight ahead, as if the two couldn’t see that from a distance. There were also two bikes for May and Drew to ride; they got on the bikes, and off they went. As usual, Drew was riding ahead of May.
* * *
While the two were riding the bikes, the bridge made an unexpected turn. Although from far away, the bridge appeared to shoot in a straight direction as a thunderbolt would, it clearly was twisting. In addition, the map that Drew was using was equivocal, avoiding the turn, and the additional flowering views May would be elated by at the end of the road. There were endearing houses sitting on the road ahead of the bridge, with many appealing and alluring flowers standing below. What a random spot this would be!
“How cute,” commented May. “It’s so Kawaii!”
To make things worse, there was an overshadowing cliff from a rising mountain in the water, completely overwhelming the area with its darkness. The cliff wasn’t seen from far away, but the bridge had an obnoxious yet eccentric sense with perspective, with rides seeing this after they have arrived at certain points of the crossway. The rocky cliff above held its finger-like statures directly over the house, as if it was going to break down on top of the miniature figure with a loud crush. Unfortunately, a crack and a boom from far away in coincidence of May and Drew’s presence triggered this charm. The rocks above began spraying down vigorously on top of the house, commencing with the small ones in horrible terror. The house was not at all destroyed, but tattered from these continuous downfalls of the brown spears crushing on windows and plants. In addition, the huge blocks were preparing to damage the sides of the house. Some began tripping apart the rocky hands, sliding off with rapid speed as Drew pulled May out of the way, and…
“Stop blocking the way with your heavy self!” admonished Drew. “Come on—”
A huge yet helpful monster came spearing out of the sky, covering the house like a protective shield. It was nothing more than a brown shadow, raining rocks as it shielded across the entire household, and everybody around it. Some of the plants that were about to be smashed would breathe in relieve that they were not, while the humans about to be crushed cried in tears of following a degraded map. A giant rock heap climbing from think to thin at the top, somewhere in the middle is a gaping, smiling, toothy mouth like the movie Never Ending Story where the giant mountain-made man nixing the legs and feet; right below the facial features are two, long arms ending with three fingers and an opposite thumb, finished with a long, jagged spire coming from the top of his head aiming for the heavens. This was the monster, and most deemed it intimidating.
Glebest, the Tempest Pokémon. Living in meadows, they are often caught in storms and struck by lightning due to their height. While many in the world may fear a Glebest because of its height, they will only attack if angered. Lightning bolts are a strong signal to run when this Pokémon is ever tempered, although this would happen rarely. This thunder striking the ground would give the strong cry of a warison, signaling all of the Rock-type Pokémon in the area to come and help it fight. While in most cases, Glebest’s rarely used strength and summoning ability can be utilized to help others, as a Glebest would normally do on its own. Because a Glebest is a solid Pokémon so large in size, when rescuing others, a Glebest can carry many humans and Pokémon on its back, although the roughage may be hard to go through. Rocks will shoot whenever they move.
Above this large creature was something even more intimidating, a man. This man’s skin was tan, with a rough stand around him. It appeared as if his feet were etched into the stone of his Pokémon. With a huge rocked helmet shielded over his head, hair and eyes were unable to be seen, but his laugh proved otherwise. With a huge structure upon himself, he was almost as intimidating as the Glebest he just used. This man wasn’t fat, though, but of strong muscle, wearing a miner’s coat left opened, revealing his chest. Little less than tattered jeans shielded his legs from the scraping rocks splintered around his position, but rock hard open sandals somehow made the way as well.
Having a worthy air around him, the man jumped down to May and Drew, making a huge dent on the ground where he made his way. As big as a boulder was this man, and he made sure May and Drew were all right, even if they were tumbling on the ground. As trenchant as a boulder, he picked up the two and jumped on top of his Pokémon, happy to see them. The other pedestrians were picked up by the Glebest, preventing any chance of them getting hurt. Electricity clashed through the water, shocking some of the civilians who almost escaped. These civilians were hurt, and the source was about to reveal itself in the water. Surfacing was a long body of random zapping, and it was to cower at.
“My name is Mountain Aaron, and I hope all of you are at well guard,” introduced the man. “However, there is no need for introductions. There is yet another threat surrounding this azure bridge that I must shatter. The clouds above have set apart a thundering wave on the cross that is this bridge. It is up to me to become that boulder to set apart the electricity. For electricity may conduct from a blue wash, but not an earthy creature such as me.” Mountain Aaron jumped off, but fell out of some distraction.
Some of the civilians laughed, uncaring of what Mountain did to save them.
“Bulls are not a natural when it comes to balancing acts. I have an all or nothing, do or die temperament. Sometimes, my commitment to save others moves mountains, but then it creates more difficulties for me and more enemies than I truly deserve. With this in mind, I’ll avoid rushing my fences today and under no circumstances, rely on any second-hand power. In many ways, it seems as though I could be on the verge of success and I should have every reason to look forward to the future, but now I know to lower my expectations, look at the small print and cover my bases,” spoke Mountain Aaron. “If there is a threat, then let there be a threat upon me. Now come out at your wish!”
Two shocking Pokémon came out of the water. These creatures appeared to be brown worms having ground-like skin with cracks on it every now and then. Lightning bolts were also visible on their 'head'. This was the creature from earlier that shocked all of the civilians after sneaking out of the water. Not only that, but their owner was about to arrive out as well. However, a sparking light from above shocked the bridge, almost demolishing the protecting house. All cowered in fear and braced themselves with tears.
Zaporm, the Electric Worm Pokémon. Zaporm are always underground, decomposing whatever is in the ground from other sources with their electrifying waves to reduce anything to rubble. However, those being underground like this and always decomposing whatever gets that deep means even electric wires can easily get destroyed. They rather help humans in their farms than destroying them though, as symbiosis between plants of their species grows strong. This would help in most cases with electricity’s conduction.
“Those aren’t underground worms!” whined May. “They’re water-types!”
“Duh, you idiot!” rebuked Drew. “There’s probably another of the same kind!”
This time, Drew took out his rose-patterned PokéDex.
Zaporm, the Electric Worm Pokémon. Zaporm was always underwater, taking in the nutrients below the sea with electric dischargers. With this ability, any life underwater within a certain radius is sure likely to get zapped painfully with its rays. These electrifying waves destroy much life underwater, and then a Zaporm would eat it slowly. In addition, a Zaporm can preserve its electricity, choke its victims, and eat them alive to get more voltage. Many swimmers have been electrocuted because of this Pokémon.
The one that was in charge of these two underwater menaces made her way to the surface, using the two as a surfboard. One leg was on each of them. As she streamed through the water, her eyes had the same sparking ambition as her scandalous and shockng Pokémon, with flickering yellow hair to go with it. A slim body made her surfing technique even better, as her movements somehow caused random energy piles to generate behind her, breaking up tide areas of the water. Wearing nothing more than an adequate, yellow swimsuit on, she was extremely revealing. Trimmed down to the edge, she was able to maneuver her Pokémon easily, holding her hand above her face in gage of the sunlight sparkling yellow and orange on her entrance. An aura of good will rose, but hasty actions on the citizens. It was as luminous as a yellow orb, but as frightful as a crystal ball telling the future—one where drowning electricity from her hands would win over everyone else. Making onto the bridge, she returned her two water-type ‘surfers.’
“This area is thrift with gold!” she screeched. “And I’m gonna zap my way through the ground to get it, or my name isn’t Terra Zap! Who cares if that was super-cheesy?”
“In case you haven’t realized, we’re on a bridge above water!” reminded Drew. “There’s no ground to dig on except for that big head of yours. Get the hell out of here!”
“In that case, good-bye, losers!” throwing two PokéBalls in midair, they released two Zaporm. However, these were of the Ground-type element. “Down below we go! Stupid guy said there was gold here.” Terra Zap ‘dug’ underground, when in actuality, she was surfacing the bottom surface of the bridge, traveling along while holding onto Zaporm.
The vicious Jessie appeared as well. “It’s not here? No!” she flew off somewhere.
* * *
Much further ahead on the bridge and on the waters directly below the bridge’s shadows laid a mansion on top of water. It was so silent without any ember or glint of light that nobody would be able to see it or hear it. As a matter of fact, an invisible projection made sure nobody could even have a sense that it existed. No eyes could witness the mansion, and no ears could hear it. Many people were in though, dressed in royal fashion, but all soiled on clothes, as if looking for something. Indeed, vile intentions surrounded.
Hurriedly, Terra Zap arrived in the room, coincidentally followed by Jessie. An icy statue as large as the walls itself laid its presence in the background of the area, with heavenly light surrounding the cold structure. This statue had a footing sustained into the waters of a waterfall below, where much of the seas would unnoticeably shine between these lying realities. Water sprayed elegantly from its mouth. On the royal couches was Harley, but he was one of many, clearly not in power of this affluent and mysterious location.
“When is that Princess Rosa coming…?” muttered Harley. “What a waste of time…”
