64 coordinators enter for the preliminaries and only 16 will make it through for the appeal round. In this stage, it is the same thing as Single Appeal Rounds and only the top 16 will make it through for the Duo Appeal. For some there will be success and for some there will only be heartbreak.
16 coordinators qualified for the Duo Appeal Round. In this round, contestants will make yet another appeal in the time limit of four minutes. The difference is that the appeal must be made with two different Pokemon, making teamwork an even more important asset. Only the best 8 out of 16 will make it for the Competition Round, where the Contest Battles will take place.
For the Competition Rounds, Double Contest Battles will be taking place on the main stage. Each battle will have a time limit of six and the winner is decided when either both of a trainer's Pokemon have been in Battle Out or when one Coordinator has lost all of their points. The play-off will work as Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals, and then the Finals.
Here are the match-ups:
Quarter-Finals: Clade vs May Drew vs Twister Robert vs Misty & Brock Jessie & Grace vs Harley
Semi-Finals: May vs Drew Robert vs Harley
Finals: May vs Harley
The top coordinator of this year's Zudo Grand Festival is May from Petalburg City!
