Let’s waste money on astrology! But first, what are we wasting it on? In most newspapers, there is a section called “ your daily horoscope.” Horoscopes forecast daily events by finding alignment of the nine planets, the moon, and the stars. Unrealistic, but it seems exciting, doesn’t it? At first, it’s fun and all, but sooner or later, an event will occur by pure coincidence. This leads them to a usual resource on the Internet called Susan Miller’s (the person who wrote all of the content) Astrology Zone. This hosts one the largest monthly horoscopes; the size encourages people to believe in astrology, thus making them go to an astrology center. This wastes money since astrology illogical in my opinion. It should not be waste on astrology; many people claim it to be serious science, hope, or even religion, but most experts believe it is unnecessary superstition. Astrology cannot be proved, for three absurd traits of it. Horoscope readings tell foolish predictions in which foretells relationships, financial future, and lucky days.
Relationships are part of a horoscope’s telling. “Your love life and relationship with a child (or a possible pregnancy) may be your focus at month's end (July 25 new moon), or you may focus on a creative project. Again, there would be something important about that project, with presumably a lot at stake. You'll be ready to decide, so more forward with your characteristic courage.” That was a reading from astrology zone’s Aries horoscope. I highly disagree with this; I am only thirteen years old, there is a small chance I might have a child, and my friends are all around my age. So this prediction is nowhere near correct. “ The second type of experience would be focused on frustrations that you have in your relationship. For example you may be upset about the lack of time together (or a forced separation) between you and a lover. This instance would have been more likely during June and during the first part of July, when Saturn and Mars were and will continue to be orbiting in tight alignment.” This is another cut part of the Aries horoscope. I do not see how the alignment of planets can affect relations, let alone a person; so this is very unrealistic and incorrect.
Another absurd trait of a horoscope is foretelling of financial future and materialistic traits. It states that you might get a gain, but most of the time you do not. “Thanks to the new moon that occurred late last month on June 25 in Cancer, you can set up your little nest just the way you please. Act in the first two weeks of July for best luck, as early as possible. If you are not ‘in the chips’ yet, this new moon will be in gracious angle to financially generous Jupiter, so the funds you need should arrive, one way or another, especially near July 26 when Venus and Jupiter will cooperate so beautifully.” This extremely contradicts my situations, as I am poor. I cannot waste excess money because I do not have any. So it is a bad foretelling in my case. And I do not really get handed a lot of money a day, with all of the greediness on Earth, so a stupid prediction in my opinion. “ If you are moving or buying new furniture, or reorganizing the space you have now, it appears you will be able to create a feeling of luxurious spaciousness. Sometimes the physical space we have is fine, but instead we need to fix something within the family or household. If you need a new roommate, for example, the right one should surface now. If you are concerned about special care for an elderly parent, you should be able to find options that you like as the month begins. All sorts of shifts may now take place.” My apartment is fine the way it is. It is very comfortable to me. “While it's fine to move or buy little things (placemats, dishes, everyday flatware, glasses and cups, pots and pans, mirrors and such), it's not the time to buy an expensive rug or couch or to sign the lease on a new apartment, for instance. Keep in mind too, that this month WOULD be a great time to paint, do repairs, and make other changes in the house. Mercury retrograde is the perfect period for that!” I am not actually materialistic in any way, so this is a GAB (give me a break) situation. So materialism is a bad trait in horoscopes as well as financial future is a bad part.
Have you even noticed a part in a horoscope where they show dates? They are called lucky days and show what will happen in the horoscope when. “If you were born on March 22, or within five days of this date, you will find ways to benefit most from this new moon on July 25. This is not a month that will likely be light and free when it comes to love, but you may be the exception. Here are your very best nights for love: July 8, 12, 15, 21, 26 and 29.” This is the part in a horoscope where coincidently the event happens (Like I will most likely find love July 8, 12, 21, 26, and 29). There is a very low chance where this will occur and if it does happen, people will believe in it. This increases the gamble in horoscopes so it barely occurs. How are these days chosen? They are based on the alignment on the stars, moons, and planets. So this is an excuse to link astrology to astronomy. This can lead to long debates with astrology haters and supporters.
You can always enjoy astrology, but do not take it seriously. Remember it is very inaccurate, telling faulty predictions like relationships, financial future, and random luck days. A mature approach will probably be the best thing to take on astrology and remember they are fun, not real.
