“Morals are only for children!” Have you ever heard this argument? Some people believe it, but I do not agree with it. Morals are just as good for adults as they are for children for three reasons. Adults learn from lessons told by fables, and agree with them. Morals help adults remember life lesson in an amusing way. Lastly, adults can teach these lessons to future posterity.
Morals are exceptionally advantageous to adults because they agree with the majority of them. This helps them in daily decisions and even life decisions! A story by a poet shows how he made a mistake by not listening to a moral. His heart was broken, and he tells from experience. Had he listen to the advice of the fable, he would have been better off. Another easy to remember is, “Do not count your chicks before they hatch.” This helps adults in finance, or decoration. Most people buy random things that they believe they will need, but might not have what is necessary for it.
Adults can be quite forgetful due to common stress. But morals are easier to remember and are quite amusing to them. Morals are fun to older people since they are similar to brain teasers.
Have you ever heard your parents or older sibling say, “Look before you leap?” It moral is actually from the fable “The Frogs and the Well.” This is a common lesson used by adults and elders to younger children, such as sons, daughters, nephews, and nieces. Another moral, “Necessity is the mother of invention,” inspires people to make unique creations. Children who follow this lesson will get past life with clever and imaginative ideas, so that is also good. Since they are presently “wise,” they have had a lot of experience in life, willing to pass it on to posterity.
So practically, fables are actually better for adults that for children! Adults get decision-making advice, recreation, and give assistance to the future. So you adults should start listening to morals!
